Privacy Policy

IMPACTFEES.ORG is an informational site: you can browse fee guides and run the calculator without creating an account or providing your name. We collect only the information described below, and we do not sell personal information.

Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how the site is used: pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and interactions such as calculator use and outbound link clicks. PostHog may also record how you interact with pages (session replay), including clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement; text you type into form fields is masked in these recordings by default. This data does not identify you by name.

Advertising measurement. We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag and the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on those platforms. These tags report your visit (pages viewed, along with device and browser information) to LinkedIn and Meta, which may associate it with your account on their platform and use it for ad measurement and to show you relevant ads.

Information you submit. If you fill out a form on the site (for example, to request sourced fee data for a jurisdiction or to ask about sponsorship), we collect what you enter, typically your name, email address, company, and message. Form submissions are stored in our database and delivered to us by email so we can respond.

Locations you search. When you search an address, drop a pin, or share your browser location in the calculator, the coordinates are used to identify the responsible city and county. Address searches are processed by the geocoding service described below.

We use this information to operate and improve the site, respond to your requests, prioritize which jurisdictions to research next, measure sponsored placements (impressions and clicks), and measure whether our advertising on LinkedIn and Meta brings visitors to the site. We do not use form submissions for marketing lists: there is no newsletter, and we email you only in response to something you sent us.

Google Analytics and PostHog set cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Meta Pixel set cookies used for advertising measurement and to match your visit to your account on those platforms. The site may also use your browser's local storage for functional conveniences such as remembering calculator settings. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

These providers process data on our behalf:

• Google Analytics (usage analytics, as described above). See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles this data.
• LinkedIn Insight Tag (advertising measurement): visit data is shared with LinkedIn as described above. See LinkedIn's privacy policy and its ad opt-out controls.
• Meta Pixel (advertising measurement): visit data is shared with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) as described above. See Meta's privacy policy and its ad preference settings.
• PostHog (usage analytics and session replay, as described above). See PostHog's privacy policy for how PostHog handles this data.
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim (address search and reverse geocoding): the address or coordinates you look up are sent to this service to resolve the jurisdiction.
• Supabase (database hosting, including storage of form submissions).

Form submissions are retained for as long as needed to respond to and follow up on your request. Analytics data is retained under the default retention settings of Google Analytics and PostHog.

You can browse the site without submitting any personal information, decline the browser location prompt and use address search or the map instead, and block the analytics and advertising tags with your browser or a content blocker. You can also limit how LinkedIn and Meta use data collected about you off their platforms through the ad settings linked above. To ask us to delete information you previously submitted through a form, send us a note through the inquiry form referencing the email address you used, and we will remove it.

The site is intended for professional and general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its date. Material changes to what we collect will be reflected here before they take effect.
